OTRS Version(s)
Greetings,
When I hover the OTRS download option it has v14.2; however the change log talks about v14.1 (ref: https://www.turnkeylinux.org/updates/otrs) is this on purpose?
Also, what is your decisioning/reasoning on being so far behind in perl modules of OTRS at v3.3.18 when the current version is v6.0.3?
Not being a linux GURU, I love the fact that I can come here and have something already pre-configured - but is there no concern on being vulnerable to current attacks?
I had an issue yesterday with my appliance POP3S failing to talk to my Exchange 2013 (due to a hidden Exchange service being inactive); but the OTRS moderators at http://forums.otterhub.org weren't trying to help much and kept trying to force me to upgrade - saying things like:
-------
"It is the solution as.
- Perl modules are outdated and might not work with the SSL settings on your Mailsystem
- Linux system of the appliance is most likely outdated and vulnerable to a lot of exploits
- OTRS instance is outdated and has > 10 vulnerabilities, some of them also not fixed in the last version of 3.3. (3.3.20) as 3.3. is out of support
As nobody changed your OTRS instance only a change on the other system could be the cause. So revert the change or upgrade your OTRS instance."
-------
I know the appliance receives updates/fixes automatically; are these the vulnerabilities and out of date modules he speaks of?
