Hi, I have installed Lamp on amazon.
I went through my server log with a fine tooth come and have not found my root password.
I have found the keys but I have no idea how to use them.
I'm sure you guys hate getting people like me on the forum asking questions like ths.
Sorry if you have a tutorial in a obivouse location on your site. I have searched your forums to no end and have not found any help.
I just need the root password.
Thanks for your help in advance, and again sorry if it's a lame question, I am new.
Forum:
Did you launch from the TKL Hub?
If so then you need to set the root password from within the WebUI prior to launching your appliance.
If not then that's probably the way to go... You can find the randomly set root password from the Amazon Console but if you're a bit of a newb then the Hub is a much easier way to go...!
Assuming that you have no data in your VM I'd just destroy it and start again and make sure you set a root password!
Good luck! :)
aws.amazon.com
Thanks for the quick reply. I am not sure what the TKL Hub is? Are you refering to the isntallation on aws.amazon.com?
I installed it again. This time I matched it with a key that amazon provided.
I am reading a tutorial on how to use keys with putty. This will be my first time I hope I can get it figured out.
If there is an esier way let me know.
Thanks again for your quick reply.
Holy Guacamole!
I got it working! Thanks again for your help! I am sure I will have more question.
No worries...
Sounds like you have it sorted which is great. But FYI have a look at the Hub (link in the top right corner).
And any questions, ask away...! :)
