OK so I am trying to launch a Magento instance on EC2 via the Hub. The first time, I specified a root password, but couldn't log in with it (got a message saying access denied / incorrect password). I tried again without specifying a password, thinking I would get the password from the syslog as described. The syslog just seems to contain nonsense in the "set root password" section, no obvious password.
I expect I'm doing something wrong and would be very grateful if someone could point it out.
Best wishes
Hugh
Forum:
It should be a long string of random characters
Secondly the password (that you set) should work fine... Where/how/with what are you trying to log in?
Thanks for reply. The syslog
Thanks for reply.
The syslog contains the following in the password section:

Regarding the password that I set myself, I just SSH'd to the server using Putty on Windows. I tried entering the password several times, but each time it came back refused.
Hmmm that doesn't look right!!
I'll see if I can reproduce it...
I can't reproduce it...
OK, I got it working now.
Thanks Jeremy. I created a new instance, setting my own passwords, and can log in fine now.
Must have been a glitch in the system...
