Open source "competition" is a bit different from proprietary competition. Because it's easier for useful work to migrate across project boundaries I tend to think of other open source vendors as allies and collaborators, not competitors, even if we do happen to work on overlapping fields of interest.

Proxmox in particularly have open sourced most of their work, and for us that means a free exchange of ideas and software that will hopefully benefit both projects.
