You'll need at least 1GB RAM available, it also takes quite a while for it to start up initially.
Regardless, I'm not 100% sure what the issue you are experiencing is. I just launched a fresh v13.0 Canvas appliance and the initial error is quite different to yours. I get a page that says (something like) "Oops something has gone wrong". When I enter these 3 lines, then it works straight away...
