There are 2 "official" ways to start the installer. The first is choosing the install to hard disk option from the boot menu. The second is when running live, choosing the install to hard disk from the configuration console.

If the above doesn't help, could you please elaborate on your problem, when do you receive the prompt? How did you get there...?
