I got your LAMP stack. I know it does SFTP on port 22 - but what about plain old simple FTP on port 21?
I have a crm installation that will back up for me with a cron job - assuming I can tell it a valid FTP server. (I want to host locally for this valuable data!)
Is that a separate app I need or can you get into plain FTP on the default LAMP install?
Thx.

SFTP provided by the Open-SSH package
So by default only SFTP is available. But it is pretty easy to setup a plain FTP server.
The Ubuntu server guide details install and config here. It should all work on TKL as stated, with the minor exception of ommiting the 'sudo' command where used in the guide.
