Somehow, while trying to get my LAMP server to send emails via Amazon SES, I managed to kill shellinabox. (No, don't ask me how, I don't know what I did...) Anyhow, when I try to access it the server doesn't respond.
in Webmin's command shell, I get the error:
> /etc/init.d/shellinabox restart
start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 3277: No such process
1 pids were not killed
No process in pidfile '/var/run/shellinaboxd.pid' found running; none killed.
Cannot read valid certificate from "/var/lib/shellinabox/certificate.pem". Check file permissions and file format.
Any idea what I need to do to fix this?
Thanks.

solved
Solved this. In my FTP client I renamed the sym link /var/lib/shellinabox/certificate.pem ot gibberish.pem, and then in Webmin's command shell "/etc/init.d/shellinabox restart" . The browser progress bar ran for a long time, so I manually reloaded webmin. After that, Shellinabox worked fine.
(whew!)
