For starters, I'd personally be inclined to install a hypervisor such as Proxmox. My guess is that as a OS primarily designed to be installed to bare metal, it's hardware support would be better. FWIW, you can download TurnKey LXC containers from within the Proxmox UI.
If you want to persevere, then hopefully it should be possible. My guess is either that you need newer drivers than what is on our ISO, or perhaps they are non-free (i.e. not open source). Do you know what chipset the NICs are? Armed with that info, we should be able to find the drivers you need.
