Is there a way to Enable Extended ACL Support from the GUI webmin interface in File Server? I browsed through all the options in Samba Windows File Sharing and can't find it.
I can manually edit the smb.conf file but prefer managing it all in the GUI. See Setting up a Share Using Windows ACLs.
To enable extended ACL support globally, add the following settings to the [global]
section of your smb.conf
file:
vfs objects = acl_xattr map acl inherit = yes store dos attributes = yes

Unfortunately not that I'm aware of.
I don't think Webmin supports that unfortunately.
FWIW Webmin (the web Admin UI we supply) is merely packaged and pre-installed by us, we didn't develop it. It's probably a setting worth having access to though, so perhaps it's worth suggesting it to the developers? I think that this is where to post feature requests, but it doesn't look like there is much activity there?!
When we add a fileserver confconsole/firstboot plugin (that I hinted at in a previous post - to allow easily joining the fileserver to a domain), this should be set by default.
